On June 30, water levels at Ken’s Lake were measured at 1,525 acre feet, slightly higher than last year, according to Mark Sovine, manager of the Grand County Water and Sewer Service Agency.
“That’s 110 percent above last year, but only about 70 percent of the 2008 level,” Sovine said.
He said that the water levels at the lake were measured at 1,379 acre feet on June 30, 2009 and at 2,237 acre feet on June 30, 2008. Runoff water is also coming into the lake “a little quicker than it did last year,” Sovine said.
So far for 2010, no irrigation restrictions have been recommended, Sovine said.
“We’re just going to keep an eye on [the lake level],” he said.
