Pigs and gnats...

Reading the T-I paper a few weeks ago, there was talk of watering down the amount of money they originally asked for, when wanting to hike up the taxes. Well, people, it’s the same old pig with another shade of lipstick, asking us to shell out our last dime to pay higher taxes for our Grand County schools.

It’s much like a horse race. They ran the old nag in the first race and lost. In the second race she came in last, and they still want to run her again. Why is it they can’t understand the word “No”!

Again, on Matrimony Spring – I went down yesterday to fill jugs and did everything but stand on my head to fill them. I was thinking, 18 months ago there had been a pipe there that was installed 80 years prior. But, as many of you know, the state health inspector found a marginal amount of total coliform and a gnat that had flown into the water box.

I have to really hand it to the inspector – he has to have much better vision than 20-20 to spot that little fellow. I always wanted to ask him if that little dude was swimming the backstroke or butterfly, when being found in the spring box.
