I encourage you to vote for passing the new bond on June 24 in support of building much-needed new and safe structures for public education. If you feel invested in building a strong, healthy community here, voting to pass this bond is extremely important.

The current state of the school buildings leaves no doubt that new structures are greatly needed, not only to accommodate the expanding population of students but also to house all of them safely.

Moab is a community of incredibly talented and caring people, and nowhere has this been so obvious as at the schools, where the majority of faculty and staff is excellent. We are so lucky that even though our schools have been under-funded for some time, we still have fantastic teachers. But, now it’s time to support them so they can continue supporting our youth.

Even if you don’t have a child in this system, you still have a vested interest. There is a direct correlation between good public education and fewer societal problems, such as crime. Even if there weren’t study after study that proves this, common sense would tell you so. There is no doubt that good schools are a cornerstone to a good community.

Please vote yes in support of our schools on June 24.
