The Utah Cattle Women Association and the Utah Beef Council will partner with the Utah State Fair to sponsor a beef cook-off on Saturday Sept. 13.

The theme for the 2008 event is “Beef For All Seasons.” Contestants are invited to enter in one or both of two recipe categories: anytime, anywhere beef dishes, and cooking with kids.

Three contestants and one alternate will be selected for each category. To enter the “cooking with kids” category, the participating team must include one child between the ages of 8-12 years old, and the child’s parent or legal guardian.

Cash prizes will be awarded to the grand prize winner, and to first-, second- and third-place winners in each category.

Recipes must be submitted between June 9 and July 31 to be eligible for consideration.

Contestants who are selected will be notified by Aug. 16. For information and a more detailed description of contest rules visit www.utahbeef.org, or www.utahstatefair.com.
