Diversify tax base…

It should be obvious to anyone in the wake of the defeat of the voted leeway that Grand County needs to diversify its tax base.

To achieve this we are going to need cooperation and compromise from the polar opposites of this issue.

One side may have to realize their line of sight for a short time may have to change, but for a good cause and a good reason. One side may have to buck up and lend their support to something that may have “clean and green” attached to it.

If we can get past that, I would think a solar or a wind project in the vicinity of Crescent Junction would be a good way to go.

We already have what amounts to a radiation dump there. What would wind or solar do but produce clean energy to supplement our other sources and broaden our tax base.

Good for the schools, good for clean energy and good for the average taxpayer of Grand County.

This should be something that is presented to the county general plan and be supported by the residents of Grand County.

Oh but that would make an eye-sore. Give us green energy, But not here!!!

Personally I think that is an outstanding Idea.
