The staff of Helen M. Knight Intermediate School has named Lindsay Erekson as the recipient of the Mayor’s Citizenship Award for April 2008.

The staff and faculty of HMK said that Lindsay “always goes the extra mile and has many fine qualities. Lindsay often helps other students and during fifth grade, and she catalogued over 300 books in the library by herself.”

Moab Mayor Dave Sakrison and the Moab City Council recognized Lindsay at the April 22 council meeting.

The Students of the Month are selected by the faculty and staff of HMK based on their all-around citizenship and their involvement within their school.

The city of Moab strives to foster and recognize the contributions of young people in the community who practice good citizenship.
