The Grand County High School baseball team traveled to Parowan last Saturday, May 1 to face the top-seeded Rams in a play-in game for a chance to advance in the 2A playoffs.

Parowan jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning, and scored in each of the first four innings, building an 11-0 lead. Corie Blackham belted a grand slam for the Rams in the third inning.

Grand managed to get four hits during the game, but couldn’t get a run across the plate. The game was called due to the “mercy rule” after Grand batted in the top of the fifth. The final score was 11-0.

Starting pitcher Trevor Robertson took the loss for Grand, which finished their year with a 3-16 overall record, 0-8 in Region 15 play. Parowan was the No. 1 team in Region 13 with an 8-0 region record.

The 2A playoffs continue this week.
