The Grand County High School Red Devils' baseball season came to an end April 25 with a 3-2 loss to San Juan at Blanding.

Grand led 2-1 going into the bottom of the seventh and final inning, but the Broncos came back to win it, thanks to RBI singles from Kasidy Lyman and Benny Royer.

Grand also lost 13-3 to San Juan at Blanding last Tuesday, April 22, but that game was not counted as a region contest. The Red Devils won one of four varsity games against the Broncos this season, but lost both of the ones that were considered region games.

The Red Devils finished their season with a 4-17 overall record, 1-10 in Region 12 play, the only region win being a 10-5 victory over South Sevier on April 17.

The Red Devils also played the North Sevier Wolves to a 9-9 tie on April 4. That game was postponed on account of darkness, and may not ever need to be finished, depending on whether North Sevier (4-6) defeats South Sevier (3-8) on Tuesday, April 29, and whether Richfield (9-2) wins at Manti (3-8) that same afternoon.

Regardless of whether the Red Devils have to make up their unfinished game against the Wolves on Wednesday afternoon, April 30, it won't affect their own place in the standings. Grand ended up in seventh place in Region 12 and won't be playing in the post-season.

The state 2A baseball playoffs are scheduled to begin this Saturday, May 3 at the home fields of the higher-seeded teams, and will continue the following weekend in Orem.
