An anonymous donor in the Grand County community has offered to match ‒ up to $10,000 ‒ the total amount of money raised by Club Red, giving the center the opportunity to receive up to $20,000, Club Red officials said.

Club Red, which operates with the mission of encouraging and empowering Grand County teens to co-create community and culture through recreation, art, service, and leadership, provides a safe space with positive alternatives for Grand County youth, a news release from the group stated. Mainly a drop-in facility, Club Red provides a safe space after school for youth to spend their time Monday through Friday from 3:30-6:30 p.m. The center also offers a vareity of programs including arts and crafts, dinner and a movie night, a guitar hero tournament, and recreational activities, as well as off-site activities such as BMX races, skateboard competitions, and raft trips.

The city of Moab donates the space at the Center Street gym building for the teens. Staff, programming and snack costs are paid for by grants and donations and partnerships with other community organizations, including the Youth Garden Project, Wabi Sabi, and BEACON after school programs.

Fundraising for Club Red is done with help from the Friends of Club Red (Moab Teen Center), a volunteer board that is made up of community members. The center is also seeking volunteers throughout the year.

For more information about how to volunteer, or to make a donation, contact Club Red Director Jen Williams at 259-9991 or 259-1144, or email teencenter@moabcity.org. Donations may be sent to 217 East Center Street, Moab, UT 84532.
