On March 31, the Moab United youth soccer club played a round robin against teams from Cortez and Montrose, Colo.

Moab played Cortez in the first game and was able to put some great passes together and come up with some big goals to win 6-1.

The only goal given up by Moab was off a penalty kick.

In the second game, Montrose came out fast and scored two quick goals that put Moab on its heels for the rest of the game.

Montrose had a combined team from several teams in that area, and their play was just too much for Moab United to keep up.

Although Moab had a few chances to score, they were not able to put the ball in the net, eventually losing 9-0.

"They played hard and never quit in the game," said coach Jimmy Hawks, adding that he and the other coaches were pleased with the effort given and the progress that the team is making.

Moab United's next soccer game will be in Salt Lake City on April 14.

The team will travel up to play a game, then will watch the Real Salt Lake professional soccer team play the Columbus Crew at Rice Eccles Stadium.
