On March 21, teams from Grand County High School and Grand County Middle School traveled to Green River to compete in the annual regional Quiz Bowl academic competition. Teams of students in sixth through ninth grade from eight schools participated in the double-elimination tournament, answering questions on a variety of subjects, including math, geography, science, history, and general trivia. The GCHS team won their first two games and ended up with the third-place trophy. Pictured above with their trophy are team members Patrick Andrews, Brandon Johnson, Dustee Arehart, Megan Moore, Jesse Sheets, and Kimberly Brand, all of whom are freshmen at GCHS. The middle school team also did well, winning one game and tying for fifth place. The overall competition was won by San Rafael Junior High, which came through the losers' bracket to defeat Mount Harmon Junior High in the finals.
