St. Clare’s Guild of the Episcopal Church has been preparing a St.

Patrick’s corned beef and cabbage dinner since 1988 (except for a

couple of remodeling years).

It was the brainstorm of Doris Ranch who thought it would be a

unique church dinner and fund raiser. Proceeds from the dinner have

financed guild projects such as church improvements, Christmas

outreach, coffee hour, scholarship fund and food bank.

Diners are seated and served by children of the church. They are

easy to spot in their white shirts and green aprons. They take their

job very seriously. The meal consists of corned beef, potatoes,

carrots, onions, and cabbage. There is a dessert table and diners are

invited to choose desserts as they like.

The dinner is on St. Patrick’s Day, Friday, March 17 from 5:30 to

7:00 p.m. at the Episcopal Church on Kane Creek Blvd. Tickets are $9

for adults and $4 for children. Tickets may be purchased from St.

Clare’s Guild members.

Meals are also delivered to the homes of those who are unable to

attend and would like that service. You are invited to call Kathy

Kempa, 259-1356 for tickets or more information, or if you would like

home delivery.
