They have met at members' homes in the past but

loose meeting schedule but meet periodically to discuss their current
book and decide on another. Currently about seven people join in on the
discussions but they would like to have a few more join them.
Their current book is “The Piano Tuner” by Daniel
Mason. One is available at the local library and another is in the Moab

Twenty years ago this week, officials from the BLM
and Conoco Oil met with the community during a property owners
association meeting. They answered questions regarding a proposed
exploratory well that was to be drilled at the base of Parriott Mesa.
Residents raised concerns about the noise, lights and the chance of
escaping deadly gases.
The well was eventually approved and the drilling
was in full operation by March. Fifty truck loads were required to
transport the rig to the location just off the Loop road and it was in
operation 24 hours a day for about two and one half months. They
reportedly drilled to a depth of between 1,300 and 1,500 feet.

Radio. The program, Children’s Shine Time, ran every Saturday morning
and featured music and stories for children.
