Canyonlands Field Institute has announced that openings still remain for children entering grades four through seven to attend CFI’s GeoWhiz summer adventure camps.

From June 15-19, CFI will hold a day camp from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Participants in the camp will hike and explore the La Sal Mountains and Mill Creek, and take a rafting trip on the daily section of the Colorado River.

CFI is also offering three overnight base camps for area kids. During these camps, participants will spend four days and three nights camping in the La Sal Mountains. Base camps are available June 30-July 3, July 7-10, and August 4-7. Participants will hike and explore the mountains Tuesday through Thursday and raft the Colorado on Friday.

Group size on all programs is limited to 12 children per camp and the cost is $100 per child, with a 10 percent discount for siblings from the same family.  Partial scholarships are available.

For more information, or to register a child for a CFI camp, contact CFI at 435-259-7750, or visit the CFI office at 1320 South Highway 191.
