Out of money? We’ll just print more. Out of jobs? We’ll give billions of dollars to the people who caused this mess.
Who’s going to pay for all of this? We are! How? More taxes.
We need to stop this craziness. You don’t get out of debt by spending, you get out of debt by budgeting and saving.
Maybe we could start on a local level by repairing our schools and swimming pool, etc. instead of building new ones. Suspend pay raises on all government entities.
Taxes have been the downfall of many nations and empires. Here’s a thought – what if all this giveaway money had been divided equally among every adult in our nation? Far fewer home foreclosures, more immediate money into the marketplace, thereby stopping many of the bankruptcies of businesses, stopping loss of jobs, etc.
How’s that for the trickle-down effect?
Following are some quotes I thought might be appropriate”
“In 1950, the average family of four paid 2 percent of its earnings to federal taxes. Today it pays 24 percent.” — William R. Mattox, Jr.
“For a nation to try to tax itself into prosperity is like a man standing in a bucket and trying to lift himself up by the handle.” — Winston Churchill
“Man is not free unless government is limited. As government expands, liberty contracts.” —Ronald Reagan.
